Walking distance to ferry and downtown.These comments are from a verified stayDid you find this helpful?|I stayed at Cabins of Mackinac in the Private Chalet - 2 rooms, 2 queen beds, and 2 TVs*Room 324*Positive:The staff are absolutely amazing. They are very respectful, understanding, and helpful.The cabin was conveniently located and within walking distance of downtown Mackinac City and the ferry. However, if walking isn't your thing, they do have a ferry shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off for free. The bathroom was cute and had wonderful water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. It was reasonably priced.Not so positive:The cabin needs some maintenance. The bathroom shower needs a longer non-cloth curtain, and the shower wall was not installed properly, both leading to mold.The back bedroom window needs a screen and to be fixed, especially since the only A/C is in the main room. So either you lose your privacy and keep the door open, or you lose A/C. This room didn't have enough space for an end table to set your phone or belongings on, I would recommend mounting the TV so guests can utilize that space. The outside light needs to either be fixed or a new bulb.The rooms could use a deep cleaning. The bed headboard had roughly an inch of dust, and the carpet needs to be vacuumed in the corners, around the edges, and definitely under the bed.Overall, it was a good stay and I would not only recommend it but I would stay again.These comments are from a verified stay4 people found this helpful. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Patricia from Santa Clarita stayed in July 2024My husband and. I stayed two nights in the rooms located behind the cabins. The room was 2 queens with a tub/shower bathroom and a well-lit counter/sink/ mirror outside the bathroom. There was a 2 round table for eating, refrigerator, TV, open closet. The staff (front desk, housekeeping) were friendly and helpful - providing directions, information, etc. Dont forget to pick up the map and coupons at the front desk. For a room that sleeps 6, we were given 3 towels (we are a family of 4) and our room had no wash cloths or hand towels. A little dust pan and broom in the room would be nice to sweep kid crumbs. Everything was within walking distance. Cabins are really cute and fit our family of 4 comfortably. Able to fit a total of 6 people with the pull out couch. Appearance of cabins were clean, however floors were very dirty. You could tell they have not been mopped in a really long time. Nice accommodations with outdoor pool, indoor pool and waterpark. However the indoor pool/waterpark area was so hot and humid and the smell of chlorine was so intense it actually burned your eyes and throat. We moved after the first night to a two story cabin which was much better and really made the trip enjoyable. The staff worked really well with us and made sure to take care of us without trouble. Did you find this helpful?|The only issue we had was every time we left the room our key would be deactivated and we would need to go back to the office and get new ones, the staff master cards wouldnt even work for our door either. Room needed an update, carpet was worn out, sink was slow to drain and was missing a plug. Maid service was not good, she did not clean very well. It was very nice, and the person that checked us in was very helpful, and very nice and pleasant. The inside of the property was another story. It really needs some updating. The furniture is upholstered, and very well used, and it smelled. Also the carpeting was very dirty. If these things would be changed out with a vinyl floor, and a leather type material on the furniture it would be much nicer. The bathrooms were clean, and the bedding was clean. The cabin could have had better lighting and more furniture. It is advertised to sleep six and there were only three chairs and a couch in the whole place. The loft bedroom had no dresser or chair. Not only that there was a lot of dust on the air conditioner so didn't dare to turn it on or the heat. But overall it was nice but I wouldn't get a small cabin again. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Jennifer from Middlebury stayed in October 2023The outside light was broken making it very dark to approach the cabin at night. There was not a smoke detector in the cabin and I needed to call maintenance for one. Maintenance was very quick to respond and hung a detector for us.
