We decided to stay at the Hamilton. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our request for a ground floor room. We were surprised to find they had a bike rack inside close to our room. I loved our room being right on the beach and close to the lake. The staff were very friendly. Everyone was helpful and the front desk ladies gave us several useful tips. Buying tix at the front desk saved us money.Several really good restaurants within walking distance and a short ride to the ferry. The beach view was beautiful. We loved the sound of the waves at night. We intend to return.My only complaint was that the laundry was out of operation during our stay. However, the staff arranged for us to be able to use Best Western's laundry in the meantime. The room was a bit humid but being on the shore of Lake Huron that is to be expected. All of the staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. The only down side was that there was work going on outside of our room overlooking the parking lot. This work carried on to 10:00 PM which was a bit disturbing. We could not stay at Hamilton Inn due to this decision. We were still charged by the hotel because it was beyond the cancelation deadline. Disappointing. However, we stayed there on Fri, Sept 27th and have had a pleasant stay.
