The Beach House is a family owned and operated resort run with pride and integrity. We are the last stand of cottages on the water in Mackinaw City. We are 1 mile east of downtown. There are sidewalks and a bike trail to get to town.

Seven cottages sit directly on the beachfront the others back up in a U shape from the beach. Everyone staying at the Beach House has access to our private beach. The Beach House is pet friendly (small pet fee) with 2 animals maximum. All hotel rooms in Michigan are non smoking. Smoking is permitted outdoors.

We were expecting a vintage cottage right on the lake, and that is exactly what we had - vintage meaning older fittings, and some worn plumbing fixtures - but that was part of the charm and the beach setting is wonderful. The morning breakfast muffins were delicious too! The cottage reminded me of the cabins in Maine in which my family used to stay decades ago, bringing back good memories. However, those who expect a fancy modern resort would be disappointed - even though the property' advertising is accurate.

We had reservations to stay at The Bridge House but upon arrival were told The Beach House was closed for the season. We checked in at the Bridge Vista instead (per the sign at The Bridge House) and they were extremely accommodating to our reservation. The service at Bridge Vista was superb and the hotel itself was immaculate. The check-in lady got us checked into a king size bed with a Jacuzzi tub and charged us per our initial confirmation reservation. She was very nice and I felt her positive customer service alone was an example of how The Beach House and Bridge Vista conduct themselves.

We enjoyed the beautiful location of The Beach House. The staff was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Mark made sure that we had everything we needed and provided helpful information about the area. House keeping was very efficient, our room was always tidied up in a timely manner. We look forward to staying there again next year.

The view couldn't be beat. Cabins are right on the beach. Step out your front door onto the sandy beach with porch swings and chairs. Across the water from the island and the bridge to the left. Just beautiful. The cabins are rustic, but just what you need. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

Enjoyed our accommodations for our stay which included bringing our pet. Very clean and such beautiful views of the beach and water. We were welcomed to use the amenities. Would have liked to have used the fire pit, but it was filled with debris the first night. The second night is was clean and another guest had started a nice fire. We wish the reservation process had included the fees for bringing a pet. It was not much but I would have appreciated the heads up before we arrived at the cottages.

The beach was very clean and beautiful!! We even had a sand crane hang out with us for the weekend. The hot tub and pool were very clean. The cabin was clean and well stocked with clean towels. The people working were very pleasant. We would love to come back.

I have been going to the Beach House since the eighties. I like the individual cabins and their arrangement on the property. It makes for both privacy and socializing with other guests. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The Beach House is BY FAR much better than the damn box hotels. I don't know of any other cabin places in the area, and I will definitely plan to stay at the Beach House in the future.

Loved this place, it is 100% true to the Up North vibe. Cute, rustic place with superb hospitality. Loved the pool facilities and the bon fire at night. Spectacular views of the bridge from the beach. Overall an exceptional value! We were more than happy with our stay.

The Beach House was exactly what I was looking for while on vacation; my own little spot on the beach. It's too bad there aren't more in the area. Martin was a wonderful host. He made sure I had everything I needed and provided me with suggestions. He even called for shuttle service with Shepler's for my trip to the island. Sheplers is top notch! How wonderful to be picked up and dropped off, right from my hotel. They are so friendly and helpful. The Island Book Store was wonderful. I met a very interesting Michigan author. Kilwins was excellent. I had to stop one more time before I departed. I wish I could have stayed longer! I would love to stay at The Beach House in the future. It's an excellent place to write. The history is my favorite. I wrote about my visit in my weekly column, in the Norton Lakeshore Examiner. Thank you Tammy

This was our third stay at Beach House. It is your quintessential peaceful rustic little cottage on the beach. We love the views, including the bridge, the log chairs and swings, and the location. It is definitely a great place for family or to get away from it all and clear your mind.

This is our idea of a place to stay when you go up north. The cabins are older but very well kept clean and neat. We had a campfire on the beach in the evening with two other couples staying there had a wonderful time. From the beach you can see the bridge and Mackinac Island it's just beautiful!
