The room itself was fine, except the heater only blew cool air. I didn't even ask about it, and the room wasn't freezing or anything, just not quite warm. Was able to crack open the sliding glass door and listen to the water, birds, and boats. I didnt care for the pool. The slope up on the sides extended too far into the pool leaving a narrow area in the middle to be able to stand in. I adore the city and almost every hotel we have ever stayed in has been clean and gracious. This particular room, however, had a couple of issues. We did chose a room with a hot tub but it didn't look clean enough to actually use thus we did not. The only other issue was the sliding glass door and the broken latch... However, the breakfast buffet was not good. The scrambled eggs were dry with no taste, would assume they were powder eggs and not real eggs. Ham was boiled to the point it was rubbery and like the eggs no taste...couldn't bring my self to try anything else. We were planning on taking advantage of the hot tub and pool but the chemicals in the air were much to toxic smelling. I did address the issue with two of the staff and one said is was the Bromine that was effecting our eyes and throat. So, though not toxic perhaps the the staff is using too much. Of course we were disappointed.The staff was very friendly, the rooms spotless and we loved having the balcony and a table in the room instead of a desk!Breakfast service was ok. Compared to other hotels there could have had more options, but we realize it's the off season. Not for us! We will be returning in two weeks. Hopefully we can use the pool room next time!
