Our stay at the Hamilton Inn was great. Beautiful view from our room, what a way to start and end the day. Enjoyed all the perks you offered, including the breakfast bar. The pool looked great but no time to enjoy it. We only have one suggestion, a better coffee in the breakfast bar and the room. It is conveniently located in the city. I would definitely recommend a room with a view of the lake. The sunrises were spectacular. I stayed there for four nights. We stayed two night and it was very nice. The hotel was very clean and the service was wonderful. Our room was nice and big so we had lots of room. The only thing we didn't care to much for is that it was kind of hard to get in and out of the Jacuzzi. The breakfast was pretty good better then the one we had at Flap Jack's the morning before. Everything we wanted and more. Only 1 problem was we had the "do not disturb" sign on our door because we didn't want anyone in our room as we had personal belongings there and our room was entered as the baskets were emptied and fresh towels were left. I book my room roughly 5 to 6 months in advance and I made the request for a second or third floor room; I was booked on the first floor. Unforunately, this is not the first time this has happened. That being said... The staff is very friendly and projects a positive upbeat attitude; they seem very customer centered. The accomadations are clean, appear to be well maintained and designed decently. Compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Mackinaw City, the clientele is usually well behaved and respectful of others. As to the breakfast bar, it is good- -although it might be nice to have bacon and sliced cheese so people could make breakfast sandwiches, but that is so minor of a thing that it is just a blip of an idea (and probably too costly to make sense business-wise). Over all, my stay at the Hamilton was good. I have stayed in the past and will stay again, of that there is of no doubt. And I will continue to recommend both this hotel and the MCCT website to people I know. For the most part, a job well done all the way around. Our friends that were with us had a very musty smelling room, but after leaving the A/C on while we went away it seemed to help a great deal. We noticed a few things that could be fixed up. The rooms are always clean and well stocked. Every year we visit, we request a certain room # and each time we are granted that request and we really appreciate that. We have been visiting here for the last 20+ years and we are always greeted at the front desk with hospitality and warmth and we do appreciate that; I do have a question though, why is it that sales tax in MI is only 6%, but hotels charge 8%?
