It was very clean and adequately provided with all the ammenities. The beds were very good and the linens were pure cotton which adds to the comfort. The breakfast bar was maintained well in spite of a large crowd in the room. The grounds were clean and kept up. It was wore out and bent. I'm sure it didn't work for some time before this, too bad the maids don't write down those things and they get fixed. I told them when I checked out and they said they had new ones ordered and thanked me for telling them. The room was very nice and clean though. The exterior hallways were a little dusty and there was a bat there. I know you can't help the bat problem. We could see the fireworks very well from the balcony though and it was very nice. The room was clean and it was on Lake Huron. There is a deck on the back of the hotel and not an individual balcony (first floor). The rates were very reasonable. Another chain hotel wanted twice as much for a Friday night stay. The beach is not as big and sandy as those closer to town, but you can swim there and it was nice. They offer a good breakfast in the morning. The staff is a little slow about refilling and cleaning up the messes that occur. They are dog-friendly! It was clean and comfortable. One issue that came up was no iron in the room. After requesting one, I had to wait almost an hour before one was brought. It was brand new (which was nice, but made it seem like the hotel didn't have irons)! The iron was not the issue, more the wait time. Also, a complaint was that when people shut their door, it sounded like an anvil was being dropped on top of our room. I was awakened from a deep sleep and actually had to stop and think whether there was a room above us (there wasn't--it was all one level where we were). The noise was quite loud and disruptive. Overall, I loved that there was a refrigerator there and that we had access to three water parks and the ability to purchase discount tickets to various places.
