The hotel was still undergoing construction and not ready to be opened, so they arranged for our stay at neighboring hotel (Hamilton Inn) and paid for the difference in price so that we could keep the same type of room. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return during the summer season.

We liked staying at the Clarion Hotel. The outstanding breakfast, and the view from our balcony was breath taking. The only thing that was not pleasant was, going outside in the freezing rain to get to the pool area. There is plenty of room to make a in-closed walkway to the pool area.

The room was comfortable and clean,and the balcony view great. The room was quiet, we did not hear any outside noise. My only criticism would be to have the extremely large TV cabinet on the wall opposite the sofa instead of the beds. It would have been nice if the elevator actually let you off on your floor - you should advertise that it's limited elevator access and that you will still have to go up and down a set of stairs.

John helped us out so much with changing rooms, recommending a restaurant, etc. Got the price on the internet and it was honored at the motel. He was very good. Rooms were clean. We had one problem with TV and it was taken care of immediately. Breakfast was the best! One thing we did not like was the cancellation policy. Most motels have a 24 hr. in advance notice with no charge. This motel was 3 day.

We were well pleased with the hotel. we spent two night t here. our only gripe.....the breakfast room is on the second floor and you have to go outside to get there if you are in many of the buildings. for older folk this is a problem....

Enjoyed out stay at the Clarion. The room was nice and very clean. The breakfast bar should offer some healthier alternatives such as yougurt, fresh fruits, and fruit toppings for waffles. It was a little noisy when large groups were bused in to stay at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic as we were traveling with our two children. The rooms were very spacious and gave us room to do our own thing. I will stay here again next year. The only problem I had was the pool is in a seperate building, but the rates were worht the inconvienence.

We stayed at the Clarion at the end of August 2010 with our 2 young children. The hotel was clean and service was good. We used the indoor pool and it was nice. The water was brown in the lake probably from the island boats so we did not swim in the lake. It was nice having breakfast at the hotel.

We arrived a little too early to check in, but they went out of their way to get a room ready for us. They were very friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The complimentary breakfast was WONDERFUL!!! You would pay a good price in one of the restaurants for a nice breakfast like that. The quality and variety of food available was VERY nice!

The rooms were clean and quiet. the location and price of the rooms was affordable in this present-day economy. the rooms were close to major attractions but far enough away to lend itself to a quiet, atmosphere. The front desk personnal were friendly and very helpful in helping us find our way around with recommending places to eat, etc. We would recommend this hotel for other quests and we plan to stay there, during any other future vacations to Mackinaw City. the Verrans

I was extremely impressed with the room and view. I was able to see Lk.Huron from my balcony which was an unexpected treat and greatly enjoyed! My room was exceptionally clean and the housekeeper was very friendly. There were plenty of staff people to assist any time night or day and always had great suggestions for places to see or eat. I enjoyed my stay at the Clarion and have given the hotel name to a number of people since I've returned home. I'd highly recommend this along with the shopping experience, the trolley tour, and I really liked the shipwreck display and lighthouse. I thought the shipwreck narration was very informative and interesting. Mackinaw City is on my list of places to return and gets a thumbs up!!! GO MICHIGAN!!!
