Our room was super clean, the beach was lovely and clean, the pool was nice. the available spray park really made the stay for the kids, the location in town was great, nice walk out for icecream. Loved the 24 hour coffee and hot chocolate. Met the hotel manager making coffee and he was so casual and friendly I wouldn't have guessed him to be the manager, but at the same very professional and complimentary to his staff (great people to work with, he said.) Highly recommend this hotel. Wish the room price was under $200, though, we stayed at an equally nice hotel in St. Ignace for $188 a night and Zehnders Splash Park for $220 so the Clarion at $260 (with tax) was a bit high and might keep us from staying there in the future, unfortunately. Thank you.

Manager was very helpful explaining things to do, best deals etc. Gave us a room with a water view, which we did not originally pay for. Breakfast is ok, the eggs are not edible, but other than that you can find stuff to eat. Not luxury accomodations, but convenient as a place to stay the night and have a quick breakfast before you do stuff in Mackinaw City or go over to the Island. The pool there and access to the water park across the street are nice for younger kids. I stayed 2 nights with my 8 and 5 year olds, wish I could have stayed 1 more.

Hotel was clean, and price was better than most. The view was not bad but the hotel was toward the outside of town.... Good if you want to avoid crowds, bad if you want to walk to all the stores. Still close to ferrys.

It was an O.k. hotel. It seemed kept up and clean, however I feel it needs some updating. The room we stayed in had an odd entry and we needed to take stairs as there wasn't elevator access. This could be a problem for older guests. The Hotel is conviently located.

The only negative was the lady that checked us out was snippy and although I was the only person in the lobby at the time she acted as if I was bothering her and of course she never asked how the stay was or anything at all. The room was beautiful, the service was excellent, breakfast was great as well. The only thing we did not like was the fact that we had to go outside to get to the pool or to the breakfast area. When we were there, it was chilly and wet, and it would have been nice for the kids to be able to swim and go for breakfast without having to walk through cold rain to get to both places. On a beautiful summer day, it probably would be nice to get outside, but in the spring, that was the difference between "good" and being "outstanding".

The hotel was nice, convenient just to walk to the ferry. Beautiful vieew overlooking the lake. Could have a little more to offer for breakfast. Was a little disappointed not knowing there were stairs involved to get to our room. Carrying luggage up and down stairs is not easy especcially when a person has a little trouble with stairs. There was never any mention in your ads stating there were stairs.

Room was clean and well appointed. Management was attentive. Pool water was cool and manager addressed issue promptly. We estimate this was our 32nd trip to Mackinaw. We have stayed at nearly every motel and the Clarion is one of the better ones with an older, but large deep-water pool. Proximity to Arnold's launch is a plus. Jerry & Dianne Owczarzak

We loved the room and view. The staff was very friendly and attended to all of our needs. The only concern was no elevator going to the floor we were on. We had to carry our luggage up stairs. That was not convient at all.
