I have visited Mackinaw City almost every year for 20 years. This hotel is by far the best place I have ever stayed!! I will never stay anywhere else. Pleasant staff, clean lobby and room. Huge room with all the amenities you need. The bed was comfy and I loved the pillows! Beautiful views and spacious balcony! The hotel is so quiet and although my room was outside of the elevator, I didn't hear a thing once I was locked inside my room. I was travelling alone and didn't want a bottom floor. Hotel had no problem in accommodating my request to be on at least the 2nd floor. As a matter of fact, the front desk told me "she didn't blame me" and understood completely and gave me a room on the 3rd floor. The only thing I would point out is to have someone check the beach front in the morning where some ignorant, inconsiderate guests left trash and I saw plastic bags blowing down the beach.

My lakefront balcony room was wonderful!! However, I would recommend some spider spray if you plan on spending any evening time on your balcony. Other than that the beds were very comfortable and our room was very clean, we were also greeted by kind staff and the cleaning crew always asked if I needed anything as we were there for 3 nights! I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Was really pleased with our room. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Disappointed with the breakfast offered. I specifically looked for a hotel that offered breakfast and was very disappointed the only food offered was an apple, granola bar and bottle of water.

Hotel was clean, soda machines were out of order and no breakfast (just a bag). Location is convenient and rooms were spacious. Hopefully breakfast will come back and soda machines were changed out on the last day of our stay. I would stay here again.

This hotel was perfectly placed and offered all the amenities needed. There was an issue with a skylight blind malfunction, but it did not negatively impact our stay. There are some updates required to help keep the beach sand from getting into the room and the doors to the room and bathroom have seemed to warp. This made them hard to open/close at times. A little more attention to detail on the housekeeping end too, as we found remnants of prior visitors food items on the floor when we rearranged the sofa bed. These issues were not enough to make our experience poor. The Clarion provided what we were looking for and did not disappoint.

Everything was good at the Clarion except for the elevator/layout of the building. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5. To get to the 3rd floor you had to take the elevator and then go down 2 sets of stairs. It was difficult for us to get our luggage, cooler, and other items for our 5 day stay up to our room. Other than that it was outstanding! The view from the balcony was beautiful. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. The nice sized table with 2 chairs worked out perfectly for us to dine at. We stayed at the Hamilton Inn, the Ramada Inn, and The Clarion Inn. The Clarion was best overall. Would stay there again. The sunrise over the lake each morning was breath taking!!

It was a good view from the balcony onto Lake Huron. The room was clean and comfortable. The few things that needed attention concern the bathroom. The light over the counter and sink took some coaxing to get to stay on. The shower head needed replacing as most of the water just didn’t come out as a spray no matter the setting. Having to ask for facecloths, which I would have expected to be supplied in every unit seem strange. Then not to have a working phone to call the front desk to ask help. Last but maybe the most important was no internet service. Talked to a few customers on that, and nobody could get internet service. Regardless of those problems our stay was still enjoyable.

The room was beautiful!! The front desk was so friendly and explained everything. The only thing that was disappointing (not fault of the hotel) they did not provide breakfast as the web site states but, gives you a BOGO to a local restaurant and the food was expensive and gross. Also, when I booked through the Mackinaw CIty Chamber of Tourism the package said we could use the waterparks but, all the waterparks were closed.

Hotel room was very clean, and the water view was as described. Very comfortable, only complaint was the hot tub was not hot, and the Internet was down I will stay. But overall, the reception staff were very pleasant, and the room was very clean. Hands-down one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in that area.
