We love the Docksider and have stayed there several times over the years. We did NOT stay there this year although we did have a reservation. Because of a personal problem, we had to cancel before we were to stay. We do like the hotel a lot. It is convenient, has nice amenities. We are glad to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Our room opened onto the beach and was beautiful! My grandkids had never seen a Great Lake and loved being so close. We could sit on the patio and watch them swim and beach walk (they are teens). Room very clean and well constructed. Breakfast tasty. Also, we were close to town's offerings. Would definitely recommend and go here again!

Location was our main attraction when booking however, we really enjoyed our stay at Best Western and will return for another visit. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Perfect short walk into town for shopping and restaurants/bar hopping (no need to use car while there). Breakfast was very good and offered a big variety. Our room was lakefront and on the 4th floor which had a smaller balcony/view than the lower floors so, the only change we would make is stay on one of the lower floors. The 1st floor rooms had really big walkout patio areas but, not all walked right out onto the beach (had to go out front door and walk around). So, if you want to walk right out onto beach ask for specific 1st floor rooms. The beach was very clean and had nice lounge chairs to relax and tables to set supplies/food/drinks on. View was beautiful. The indoor pool area was very nice but, we did not use. I was so happy to find this Chamber of Tourism site because I saved $65 a night on the room just by booking through their site!

Hotel was clean, you could smell cleaner as you are walking to room. Housekeeping does a great job on rooms! Location convenient to downtown area, we walked to dinner each night. Pool area is nice, easy to get to. Lots of selections on breakfast buffet. We would definitely stay here again. My only suggestion is the beach could be swept or dragged a few times a week, like I have seen done at other beach front hotels.
