We had a great room with beautiful lake view. My only concern was what looks like a drainage ditch along west side of hotel with garden hoses running into it. It was fairly empty when we checked in but at night you could hear water running into it. In the morning it was full. Just seems a little fishy ,unsanitary and unsightly next to the lake. Thank you.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs w/ first floor, no step room access for my handicapped Mother-in-law. There was A LOT of attention to detail around the property. Very clean room, smelled good, plumbing qorked well, AC worked great too! In room fridge was already on when we got there, great help to us! Staff was so helpful and friendly. Chexk in & out was FAST!

The hotel was clean, with a wonderful view. Housekeepers were very friendly and thorough with their jobs. The front desk staff extremely helpful. What kept your hotel from an outstanding rating was the WiFi service, breakfast was average, and the stairs were inconvenient(we had to walk up a couple flights and then back down just to get to our room. Having the lobby positioned in another building was very inconvenient(especially in the heavy rain).

We transferred from the ramada[terrible] early but housekeeping prepared our rooms so we could move in. the 2-room suite was fabulous and the breakfast was much better than expected.the ramada suite room was very substandard for a resort area,but the clarion was excellent.

Paid for the lake view and we got a perfect room to see the lights of the Mackinac Bridge and the Grand Hotel after spending the day on Mackinac Island! The front desk staff were extremely helpful in getting us our room, info and our tickets to the 1:00 Star Line Ferry. Loved the bonfire at night on the beach too. We had such a great stay in a comfortable setting. Thanks for making us feel at home!

The fourth floor balcony rooms are exceptional with their view of the lake and beyond. My room was immaculate and appreciated the strong WI-FI connection. Our Jeep broke down while we were up north for Memorial Day weekend 2014. Our stay at the Clarion got extended by 5 nights. The staff from the manager, Dave, to the maintenance men & cleaning ladies were amazing! They definitely made us feel at home. They were all very concerned for us & our situation & extremely hospitable. This is a beautiful hotel with an extremely friendly, caring staff. It's our new "home away from home."
