Paid for the lake view and we got a perfect room to see the lights of the Mackinac Bridge and the Grand Hotel after spending the day on Mackinac Island! The front desk staff were extremely helpful in getting us our room, info and our tickets to the 1:00 Star Line Ferry. Loved the bonfire at night on the beach too. We had such a great stay in a comfortable setting. Thanks for making us feel at home!

The fourth floor balcony rooms are exceptional with their view of the lake and beyond. My room was immaculate and appreciated the strong WI-FI connection. The front desk staff offers very courteous, high-quality customer service. The Clarion offers the bonus of FREE shuttle service to Shepler's ferry which is a great perk!

Our Jeep broke down while we were up north for Memorial Day weekend 2014. Our stay at the Clarion got extended by 5 nights. The staff from the manager, Dave, to the maintenance men & cleaning ladies were amazing! They definitely made us feel at home. They were all very concerned for us & our situation & extremely hospitable. This is a beautiful hotel with an extremely friendly, caring staff. It's our new "home away from home."

The only thing I did not like was that I booked for the clarion and then was moved to a different hotel, which was an awesome hotel and I was okay with that, just if they are not open don't allow us to book them, just show the hotels that are open.

Excellent accommodations and staff. We had been assigned a room on an upper floor, but when we expressed concern about hauling our suitcases up the stairs (no elevator in this particular building), the desk clerk willingly reassigned us to a main-floor room. In fact, we didn't even need to request it; he suggested it himself. Nice coffee/lounge room where we could meet with friends. Great breakfast buffet, too!

The room was nice and had what we expected with the jacuzzi tub. I feel the room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast bar was not as nice as expected but perhaps it was due to all the people that were there. It was a large spacious area but there wasn't anyone checking tables to clean them up or keep the serving areas clean. Close to the dock for our trip to the island and the overall hotel was pleasant and comfortable.

Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Tile floor in bathroom area was very slippery, especially with stockings on your feet. Bins of used bedding outside near the office when we checked in were unattractive. They were still there in the morning. The hot breakfast bar and the dining area were especially nice.

We spent our 40th anniversary here in September. From the front desk at check-in to the check out after 2 days everything was excellent. Clean room, beautiful view, kind, friendly staff. Pool was warm with ample fresh towels. Breakfast bar was well tended and supplied. We will be back!

Hotel we actually stayed at was the Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront. The rooms were clean the service was quick and prompt, breakfast was good. The 2 bedroom suites are all courtside and that was the only negative as we could not look out on the water from our rooms. The prices were great for the 2 bedroom suites.

Everything was fine at this hotel except the amount of stairs getting to the rooms even when using the elevators. It would be a major problem for anyone with bad knees or heart problems and I think it should never be recommended to senior citizens.
