"We made a stop at Mackinaw city before our stay on the Island. We loved it here at the Dockside. Quick check-in, front desk was helpful by providing discount coupons and bottled water. The included breakfast was FABULOUS! Plentiful hot and cold items like pancakes, bacon, eggs, lots of toast options, oatmeal (with toppings), juices, yogurt, cereal, etc. Definitely something for everyone to enjoy! Great location too! We walked to downtown to shop AND we walked (with our rolling luggage) to Shelpler\'s Ferry as well. They let you keep your car in their parking lot, which was nice because overnight parking is expensive at the Ferry ports. Would recommend, absolutely!"

"The price and the view were wonderful! The service was friendly and great. The proximity to the ferry was awesome! We had pizza delivered to the room from a local pizzaria and it was so good! The hotel breakfast was good, and they offered decent selections, but parts of the room and the pool looked like they were needing or were in the middle of some sprucing up. I plan to be back!"

"Same as any other Mackinac City Hotel, but MUCH cleaner than a few I have stayed at. Front desk was polite and friendly. Hotels should be less expensive now that they do not offer a continental breakfast.Water park was not impressive, although we were aware of the large water slides no longer running, the pool area and lazy river should have been cleaner. Nice location and was more peaceful staying slightly farther awat from downtown area."

"We stayed in the 3 BR suite with 4 queen beds, which was really a 2 BR suite connected to a standard double queen room.The rooms were spacious. Each room had its own bathroom. This was a great option for our family of 8, three generation traveling together. And the price was very affordable.The website said there was a kitchenette. That seemed a bit misleading. It was a coffee pot, microwave and minifridge on top of the dresser.I understand the hotel has been remodeling the rooms, and we got to stay in one of the newer rooms. The wood paneling and flooring were nice. The furnishings were sparse and basic, and seemed like poor quality. Some small tables with chairs. The TV was on one of the tables, along with the cable box and wires hanging down. Seemed very strange not to mount the TVs on the wall, or put them on a dresser. The manager was very friendly. We were disappointed that both the swimming pool and the water park were closed. We were told we could go to the other hotel\'s waterparks. We tried one, but the slides were shut down. Overall it was a great value, even if there were some things lacking."

Yeah, there were a couple of cosmetic items that could have been dealt with (e.g., in the bathroom), for what we needed the place for it was perfect. "We had one of the remodeled lake view rooms and loved it. Fitted sheets are not used so they place a flat sheet across top half of bed and then very soiled and stained mattress protector is left showing on bottom half of bed. I was not sleeping on that!! I went to office and he came to see what issue was. Very apologetic and informed me they dont use fitted sheets but did bring me extra sheets so I could cover the full mattress cover. Offered to find me a different mattress cover. Was there for 2 days and only had 1/2 role of toilet paper. I would stay here again"

"The hotel was fine but the most extraordinary thing was the lady on the reception. She was a great human being and helped me and my family immensely, in every way she could. Unfortunately doesn\'t her name but wanted to give a very big shout out for something specifically that she did for us. The room that I booked in this hotel was having just a queen bed which was a mistake to book and which understandably couldn\'t accommodate all my family (five persons, two adults and 3 kids). When I went inside and noticed how small it was I went back to her and informed that I didn\'t realize that the room would be so small for which she replied that she herself was surprised why I chose such a small room. I explained that it was my mistake and I didn\'t pay too much attention while I was making reservation. That nice lady without asking me upgraded to a bigger room and made this whole experience so awesome. Thanks to her."

"Motel was fairly clean. Beds were decently comfortable. Bathroom was spotless which was a huge bonus. Only complaint was it was slightly musty which is to be expected as Im sure theyre shut down for a majority of the year due to winter. But overall it was pretty good. However, there is access to the 2 water parks in the town and I DO NOT recommend either one. Went to check out both and they are both not only dated but the water at both was cloudy and dingy looking. You could not see your feet if you were brave enough to go in the water. The emerald cove one said it had waterslides which it did but they were blocked off and the pool beneath them was empty and gross looking. Also the lazy river was also cloudy and yellowish brown looking. I wouldnt let my child in either one especially since I wouldnt venture into either one as well. Mind you, we stayed the first weekend in August so you should think that they would be up to date and busy."

The interior (blond knotty pine) and the red and white bed linens looked new. Comfortable mattress. Some bathroom tiles need grout, and some exterior items (roof soffits) and outdoor benches need paint."
