The price and the view were wonderful! The service was friendly and great. The proximity to the ferry was awesome! We had pizza delivered to the room from a local pizzaria and it was so good! The hotel breakfast was good, and they offered decent selections, but parts of the room and the pool looked like they were needing or were in the middle of some sprucing up. I plan to be back!

I booked this hotel because it had room combinations that worked for our situation. The room was clean and worked fine. We didn't have time for breakfast, however, the person who attended the breakfast was very gracious and allowed my daughter to get some coffee and a muffin before we left. The reception people were very helpful as well.

It was a great location, close to everything. Arnold Ferry dock was within walking distance. Breakfast was pretty good. Some updates would go a long way...fresh coat of paint, updated decor, one of lamp shades broken/falling off. Beach/water view was nice! Beach chairs not in best condition and fire pits full of trash. Sad that people can't be more respectful of property as well. Overall was decent place to stay.

Wonderful location, great amenities, loved the beach set up and the room set up. Only thing keeping it from a 5 is the room at check in wasn't the cleanest, bathroom had hairs all over floor, but rooms and beds were clean. The beach area could be neater. I would return just areas that need some attention

The room was clean, fresh and comfortably large. We enjoyed the view of Lake Huron from our balcony. The fire pits and ample chase lounges on the beach were a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was basic and could be added to for a healthier offering instead of mostly carbs. We would recommend this hotel.

The Clarion beachfront hotel was reasonably priced, close to everything and so conveniently located. We had a suite so our family of 5 had a room for the parents attached to a room for the kids with a shared bathroom. Its often hard to fit 5 of us in a hotel without booking two rooms so we really appreciated this. Breakfast was included and was great! Some hot and cold items with enough variety to make everyone happy. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The beachfront was beautiful. I really loved that I was able to add options at booking like our ferry tickets at a discounted rate and then receive them at check in. Very convenient! The indoor water parks are located at various sister hotels within a close drive and are great for families with young children. My older kids were a little disappointed because the only two larger water slides were closed and not running. The only reason Im giving 4 stars and not 5 is because everything (even the sister hotels with the water parks) was a little dirty and rundown. Dirt in the corners, cracked tubs, cloudy pools you couldnt see to the bottom of. That was the only negative. Beds were clean though and we enjoyed our stay! We would recommend and definitely stay again!!

Nice Breakfast and nice view. But needs to update to usb connection and plug ins so that they are on the lamps. The pillow on king bed need to be bigger not the half size pillows that we got

I could hear the waves from my room. The room was extremely comfortable. It had a couch, table, King bed, ample and comfortable jacuzzi tub. The only thing I would change, is someone needs to hose down/power wash the patio and screen door.

We stayed one night, just a few days after the hotel opened for the season. The staff were welcoming, professional, and very friendly. Our first visit to the area. We got some really good advice about local attractions as well as some info about our travels to our next destination. Our room was clean & well maintained. The beach area was really nice, except for the early spring fish flies, and the grounds were well cared for. The breakfast room was clean, and we were happy to find the "deluxe continental breakfast" was better than expected. Pancakes, ham, fruit, yogurt, etc. We will stay here again on our next visit.

Loved the location rooms need to be updated big time really smelled musty and damp help was busy cleaning rooms but I had to go to the front desk to get a roll of toilet paper the cleaning staff said they couldnt give it I said well were here for 3 nights beach area needs cleaning lots of little kids playing charge a little more people will appreciate it bc the price is reasonable people will pay it management definitely needs to be better bc you what they say the boss is away the people will play

Our room was clean, the staff was friendly. There really needs to be more outdoor garbage cans. The trash piled up pretty quickly. The garbage on the little path to the beach could really use a little cleaning up.

This must have been a lovely hotel years ago. It does show it's age today. The bed was super comfortable. The shower room had a giant spider web in the light fixture above. I did tell the front desk that. If you are looking for a hotel with a good breakfast, then this is not the place. It was marginal at best. The staff was very nice. Other than that, we love Mackinaw City.
