Blue Water Beachfront HotelBlue Water Beachfront Hotel Steven from Cleveland stayed in June 2025We stayed in the 3 BR suite with 4 queen beds, which was really a 2 BR suite connected to a standard double queen room.The rooms were spacious. Each room had its own bathroom. This was a great option for our family of 8, three generation traveling together. And the price was very affordable.The website said there was a kitchenette. That seemed a bit misleading. It was a coffee pot, microwave and minifridge on top of the dresser.I understand the hotel has been remodeling the rooms, and we got to stay in one of the newer rooms. The wood paneling and flooring were nice. The furnishings were sparse and basic, and seemed like poor quality. Some small tables with chairs. The TV was on one of the tables, along with the cable box and wires hanging down. Seemed very strange not to mount the TVs on the wall, or put them on a dresser. The manager was very friendly. We were disappointed that both the swimming pool and the water park were closed. We were told we could go to the other hotel's waterparks. We tried one, but the slides were shut down. Overall it was a great value, even if there were some things lacking.These comments are from a verified stay

Yeah, there were a couple of cosmetic items that could have been dealt with (e.g., in the bathroom), for what we needed the place for it was perfect. Only gave 4 stars because there was ice cream dried on the front of dresser and bathroom floor had dirt on it. When staff delivered fresh towels, he kindly cleaned the dried ice cream. We didnt mention floor to him , but Im sure he would have cleaned it if we had asked. View was perfect and all staff were very friendly. Bad smell, air wasnt working good, stopped up sinks, and nasty carpet. My daughter went to office to see if they would do anything for us and they moved us to two beautifully remodeled rooms beach side!! It was gorgeous! Blue Water Beachfront HotelBlue Water Beachfront Hotel Alicia from Rose City stayed in August 2024We got a 3 room suite, which was basically 3 individual rooms separated by doors, which we had opened most of the time. Nice new flooring, each room had a mini fridge and microwave and its own bathroom. This was perfect for our party of 6 and gave us plenty of space. There were 4 beds total which were not super comfortable but adequate. It was right on the beach which was very nice with a view of the bridge and the island. Very happy with it considering we only paid $149 per night. The pool was clean but freezing and the waterpark was shut down and not working, we visited some of the surrounding hotels water parks to find they were all pretty much in shambles and run down as well. Thankfully we didn't come for the water parks or the beds, so all in all it was a good vacation. I was a bit put off when I had read 3 other reviews over the coarse of 2 years, stating there were bed bugs, however, our trip was almost 2 months ago and haven't ran into a problem yet. We also thoroughly checked the rooms and beds before check in. Front desk people were also very friendly. Overall we enjoyed it.These comments are from a verified stay1 person found this helpful. Beach was littered with trash (although people should know to pick up after themselves). Housekeeping never checked in during 4 day stay, so ran out of clean towels & tiny in room trash can quickly filled up. We had no bath towels when we got there; we had to wait until laundry service came. The people at the front desk were so nice and always willing to help answer any questions we had. It would have been nice to know that the water park at THIS hotel is closed and that the one down the street is only for small children because the slides at that one were also shut down. The water parks were the reasons that we selected this hotel. It was nice that it was close to all the shops. The only thing the tub was really high.to get into, it needs grab bars and took awhile for hot water for shower . We came with our family 13 of us so we had 4 rooms. It was a perfect ending for the day after being on the island to sitting on the beach around a bon fire laughing and talking. Being able to enjoy the sun rise over Lake Huron was nice, and the added bonus of watching the weekly fireworks from the beach was cool! House keeping did a great job .My balcony over looked the water with a perfect sunrise. Coffee on the balcony in the morning, watching the firepit fire at night being very close to the ferry. Just perfect for watching the sail boats coming up in the horizon for the Bayview Port Huron Mackinac Island race. Binoculars in hand, drinking coffee, and eating cookies on a clean balcony over looking the lake after a day on the Island was so amazing. French doors in my room allowed a nice lake breeze thru my room. Also the shower head was adjustable, so a nice relaxing shower. They have done some recent updates with very nice wood paneling, fresh paint, new laminate flooring. The didnt replace the cracked tile. The toilet rocked when you sat down. The bed creaked and clanked with every movement. That being said. Sandy beach front right outside my room. The beach itself was sandy. The sand extends out into the lake as far as I walked. However, we ended up having to switch rooms because it needs some work. The air conditioner in the first room didn't have any visible buttons to see how low or how high the settings were, let alone, didn't know how to even turn it on. The phone didn't work either. I'm not sure if housekeeping are even letting the manager aware of these things, because she had no clue. Under the bed was not cleaned. The bathroom faucet was missing the piece that keeps the water from splashing all over you, and the microwave was missing the front legs on it and also the little holder that holds the glass plate inside was gone. Such simple things that could be fixed, but clearly haven't been. Pool was down and 3rd year in a row no hot tub.No value @ bogo buffet with coupons.Been staying here for 20 years since it was aqua grand. Room was nicely updated . Plenty of electrical outlets. Love the location and the No frills aspect of hotel. Definitely budget friendly. .Mattresses were a little too firm in 133 . But to each their own I suppose.I'm booking again next year. Looking fwd to seeing completely updated property. Dare I say free breakfast making a comeback? I had three rooms rented and each one had something broken/wrong with it. With that said, the staff at the other hotel and the handyman were nice and helpful. My personal room had a broken toilet seat. When I sat down on the toilet, I fell off and the seat was in six pieces. When I looked up while on the floor, there was a new one still in the box leaning against the sink. My carpet was also damp the entire time. The view from balcony and beach was great.
