This hotel is very close to downtown as you can get. The room was clean and the pool was warm. The hot tub was hot! The pool could use a good scrubbing on the tile. Check in was smooth and easy. It is a bit of a walk to get breakfast or the pool and you have to go outside to get to both. We had a lakeview and the beach was clean.

The hotel had credit card processing problems for customers signing in on Friday night. The staff seemed confused and the way they handled it didn't seem very secure. But once the system was up and running, everything from there on out was fine.

Our room was very nice, housekeeping was great and breakfast was excellent. Was great that everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. My only complaint was upon our arrival the front desk staff was not very welcoming or friendly. Not a good first impression. That was the reason for a 4 star instead of a 5

Wonderful hotel!! It's in a great location, close to shopping, dining, and the ferry service to the island. The private beach is perfect for families. Our room was clean, comfortable & had a great lake view. Breakfast was delicious with a large seating area. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Mackinaw City!

I would actually rate our stay right between "Outstanding" and "Good". My one small critique would be the customer service at check in. The front desk person who helped us seemed to do the minimum to welcome us and answer questions. Subsequent visits to purchase tickets and to check out were very pleasant and the staff was very helpful.

My family and I stay at Best Western Plus Dockside in Mackinaw City Michigan every year, sometimes two times a year. Even though some of the other hotels are wonderful to stay at, there is no other hotel with the same feeling, great beach, wonderful breakfast bar, a great pool, etc,.

This was our second stay at the Best Western Plus Dockside in Mackinaw City! Rooms are nice, clean, service is wonderful! We love that they are right on the water but also have an indoor pool. They have laundry services available, great for large families on vacation! And a great complimentary breakfast each morning as well. Will definitely be back when we come to stay again!

For our first time staying in Mackinaw City, the hotel was perfect! There was a mix up regarding the card key and the actual gold key needed to access our suite, but that was quickly forgotten once we actually accessed our room. It was more than we had hoped for. And when we couldn't locate the ceiling fan switch, the front desk staff arrived at our room and located it for us. They were very courteous and helpful. They arranged for the ferry shuttle as well as assisted with the water park passes, while answering all of my questions :0) and the beach front for the fireworks was AMAZING!
