The location was exceptional right across the street from Mackinac Island Ferry Company which is so close we walked over to catch the ferry to the island. There was privacy as well as the ability to get to downtown Mackinaw city very quickly. I only needed 2 days but it was walking distance to many restaurant location. Had to go to the office to get towels. Clean. Great location. Kids loved the water park. Microwave didn't work. Table only seated 2. So not great for eating in. Was great for what we needed. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Ed And Lori from Schofield stayed in June 2024Cabin was very quaint but needed some maintenance. Deck in the front of our unit needed repair and our entry door stuck. Hot water heater went out on our last day. The pool at the adjoining property was horrendous...was a hot house with urine smell. Lifeguard was sitting outside because of these issues.Owners were very nice and property was convenient to everything we wanted to do. Shuttle service was fast and reliable. Our cabin was just the right size for our needs. We stayed in a two bedroom loft style unit with spiral staircase to the upper bedroom. Unit had a small refrigerator and a microwave, a log table with 4 chairs, couch and chair. I just had to close all the blinds .. (to pretended It was in a remote secluded place / in the country) .. & it was heaven I enjoyed 3 tvs, a jacuzzi tub & rap around stairs to the loft! It was "clean enough" for an overnight stay, but I would not choose this hotel again unless I stayed in a cabin. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Patricia from Saline stayed in September 2024Staff was very professional and top notch. We explained a problem we had with the Hamilton, and they stepped up and took great care of us. I wished I had gotten their names, but the whole staff there (including Gugen who cleaned the rooms) were exceptional and a valuable asset to the Hotel. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Arvella from Melrose Park stayed in September 2024Great cabins to stay in, close to activities and the ferry. Had to switch cabins due to first one was smaller than expected, TV was not working and the blind in the bathroom was broken (can see straight in). Maintenance fixed the TV right away. Informed the front desk of a few other issues and requested a larger cabin. They were very accommodating and friendly. The cabins were clean but could do better hitting the corners and spider webs. Loved having our own space with the Chalet and kids LOVED the water park. Recently remodeled. We were in one of the older cabins and were quite pleased. We would stay again. Walking distance to ferry and downtown.These comments are from a verified stayDid you find this helpful?|I stayed at Cabins of Mackinac in the Private Chalet - 2 rooms, 2 queen beds, and 2 TVs*Room 324*Positive:The staff are absolutely amazing. They are very respectful, understanding, and helpful.The cabin was conveniently located and within walking distance of downtown Mackinac City and the ferry. However, if walking isn't your thing, they do have a ferry shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off for free. The bathroom was cute and had wonderful water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. It was reasonably priced.Not so positive:The cabin needs some maintenance. The bathroom shower needs a longer non-cloth curtain, and the shower wall was not installed properly, both leading to mold.The back bedroom window needs a screen and to be fixed, especially since the only A/C is in the main room. So either you lose your privacy and keep the door open, or you lose A/C. This room didn't have enough space for an end table to set your phone or belongings on, I would recommend mounting the TV so guests can utilize that space. The outside light needs to either be fixed or a new bulb.The rooms could use a deep cleaning. The bed headboard had roughly an inch of dust, and the carpet needs to be vacuumed in the corners, around the edges, and definitely under the bed.Overall, it was a good stay and I would not only recommend it but I would stay again.These comments are from a verified stay3 people found this helpful. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Erica from Michigan Center stayed in September 2024The woman running the front office during our stay was kind and informative.The kids water park attached to the hotel and included in the stay was perfect for our older kids (4,2).We stayed in a chalet, which worked well for us with our 2 dogs. Areas for improvement:Bed sheets didnt fully cover the bed and the blanket was very thin. The bathroom blinds were broken off (my husband rigged them up so they worked for our stay) and the carpet was rather dirty (it felt almost damp and our feet picked up a lot of dirt immediately). When we travel with our dogs, we are pretty flexible but I understand how those areas could be off-putting for others.Great location, friendly staff, nice price-point and a laid back atmosphere, which we love. The widows do not open though, it would have been nice to open them. Some of the parts inside the rooms were outdated, like the bathroom blinds that were broken.
