The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The furniture is a bit dated, but we loved the balcony. We watched fireworks on Friday evening and the view was great. They had breakfast boxes - water and an apple and granola bar. The apples were old and yellow inside, but we appreciated the other things.

We enjoyed our visit to the area so much! Although we could tell our hotel was old, it was still clean and comfortable. On our last night there, our door broke and we couldn’t get into our room, so after sitting in the lobby for 1-1/2 hours, the maintenance guy had to give up and they moved us to another identical room which was just fine! Stuff happens. We loved looking out onto the beach and seeing the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!

Polite staff. Our suite was very clean however the furniture could use updating and my wife pointed out that a small table by the bed would be nice for charging a phone. We were told that there was just 7 steps up to the 4th floor from the elevator that stops in a different building on the 3rd floor. It's 5 steps down and 8 steps up. Hard with a bad knee. Everything considered, I still recommend staying at this Clarion. The view and cleanliness really made the stay nice.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The few of the lake from the balcony was breath taking. The only issue we had was they advertised a free breakfast which they only offered an apple and bottle of water and no seating. It really wasn’t that big of problem plenty of restaurants near by. You could walk to the Starline ferry dock from the hotel which was nice. My family and I will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Mackinaw City.

Needs a little upgrade but it would not stop me from staying next year. Was not happy that the air condition unit was on the balcony. Couldn't hear the water because the unit was so loud. This is not the fault of employees but this is why I stay on the beach for the water not a air conditioning unit.

I have visited Mackinaw City almost every year for 20 years. This hotel is by far the best place I have ever stayed!! I will never stay anywhere else. Pleasant staff, clean lobby and room. Huge room with all the amenities you need. The bed was comfy and I loved the pillows! Beautiful views and spacious balcony! The hotel is so quiet and although my room was outside of the elevator, I didn't hear a thing once I was locked inside my room. I was travelling alone and didn't want a bottom floor. Hotel had no problem in accommodating my request to be on at least the 2nd floor. As a matter of fact, the front desk told me "she didn't blame me" and understood completely and gave me a room on the 3rd floor. The only thing I would point out is to have someone check the beach front in the morning where some ignorant, inconsiderate guests left trash and I saw plastic bags blowing down the beach.

My lakefront balcony room was wonderful!! However, I would recommend some spider spray if you plan on spending any evening time on your balcony. Other than that the beds were very comfortable and our room was very clean, we were also greeted by kind staff and the cleaning crew always asked if I needed anything as we were there for 3 nights! I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
