The screen door to the deck was broken at the bottom and the glass door was very difficult to open. There was no shelf in the shower to hold soap or shampoo. Hotel was nice, friendly staff and clean. But hotel ad was very misleading. NO breakfast as listed, not even a snack bar area. Was told upon check in “ grab and go” breakfast from 7am-9am. This was a paper bag with bottle of water, snack size Quaker chewy bar and an apple, very disappointing. The front desk, hospitality and room services were all outstanding. The staff provided excellent suggestions on booking activities and restaurants. The beach-facing room provided a great view and it was great to relax on the balcony. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. Although we did not use it, the pool area looked nice. The mini refrigerator was a little noisy and the back of the inside was iced over so anything placed in the back would eventually freeze. Although I mention it, it really was a minor issue and great for beverages. The only aspect of the room that was dated is the HVAC unit. It is the type that has the controls on the unit with limited settings (no temperature setting). Today, this type of unit is something one would associate with a motel. It was still usable and did not diminish the enjoyment of the stay. The only thing was they said room had a court your view. But when we looked out we only saw a parking lot. The person at desk said that is what they called the court yard. A parking lot and a court yard are not the same very different. This should be changed that is false advertising. I want to stress that the best part of our stay was the staff, particularly the front desk staff. They were genuinely welcoming and friendly. There was a great fireworks display that we watched from our balcony. The beach was beautiful and the location was perfect. We enjoyed staying here. We had a wonderful time. Only thing that was not pleasant was the fact we paid a premium price for a balcony/patio on the lake side. And the people in a couple of rooms above us were constantly feeding the gulls by throwing goodies down on the beach. The birds were so noisy we had to go in. Sure would be nice to see notices on the sliding doors to “not feed the birds” Our bathroom sink drain was 90% and the bolts on the toilet broken so it rocked all over. We talked to the front desk about it……fixed in a hour or so! That was amazing and not typical so we give high marks for that service.
