The Beach House is a family owned and operated resort run with pride and integrity. We are the last stand of cottages on the water in Mackinaw City. We are 1 mile east of downtown. There are sidewalks and a bike trail to get to town.
Seven cottages sit directly on the beachfront the others back up in a U shape from the beach. Everyone staying at the Beach House has access to our private beach. The Beach House is pet friendly (small pet fee) with 2 animals maximum. All hotel rooms in Michigan are non smoking. Smoking is permitted outdoors.

This was our first trip up north, and we were so pleased with everything. We were so appreciative that this was a dog-friendly option, and our pets are looking forward to making this an annual trip. We appreciate Martin's hard work to keep it running smoothly. We love the access to the beach, the indoor water park next door, the fireworks on Friday night, the pool, the shuttle, the...everything. Did you find this helpful?|My best friend, Anna, and I took our very first girl’s trip this year, and we chose to stay at The Beach House. What a GREAT decision! Our cottage was beachfront and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The Straits of Mackinac, the Mighty Mac, sunsets, sand under our feet, and a very short distance to restaurants, shopping centers, etc. Oh, and a fireworks show at dusk… again watching from the beach! Martin, the head host, is hilarious and very helpful! We give this place 5 stars and would 100% return!!! Did you find this helpful?|The room was nicely remodeled, exceptionally clean, and still retained an old cottage feel. The view of Mackinac Island was lovely, and the beach was wonderful fine sand. People were enjoying small fires on the beach at night, and plenty of outdoor furniture provided. We used the very warm pool and hot tub, and walked to town and the ferry on the nicely paved sidewalk. Shuttle service to the ferries was also provided, and ran frequently. The innkeeper was very professional, and helpful. Personally we prefer to stay at a vintage resort, so if you’re looking for bling, you’re booking wrong place. Dog friendly places are very hard to find! We enjoyed sitting on the lawn and taking in the scenery, sights and sounds. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed dining in at your hotel restaurant. It offered us outstanding service and a menu with a lot of variety and selections. The only area of improvement we saw was at check-in. Less than five people waiting to check in, and it took 20 - 25 minutes to get our room. The Beach HouseThe Beach House Denise from White Bear Lake stayed in September 2021The cabins we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Wish it had a stove. The only problems were that the drain closure in the tub didn't stay open to allow the water to drain quickly and it would be nice if there were more accessible outlets for recharging electronics. But, those were minor problems. Clean, beautiful view and bonfires on the beach every night. Shuttles available to town, just call the manager and he will arrange it for you! Manager is very helpful. The room could have been a little nicer, but they are "cabins". Did you find this helpful?|I absolutely adore The Beach House. By far one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed at. We stayed in cottage 31, right next to the road, and never had an issue sleeping. We even napped in the middle of the day when traffic is the most loud, and was never woken up once. These beach houses get a 10/10 in my book! Also, while the hotel is currently short-staffed, we honestly didn't even notice. The rooms and cabins are kept very clean, and we’re exactly what we were hoping for. I have been to Mackinac city many times and have passed by this I never knew what a great place it was. I am so happy to have stayed there and will definitely do it again.
