We registered for a room that didnt become available, so they made it right. The rooms were awesome, and most important my mother who is physically challenged, had everything she needed to make her comfortable, the handicapped bathroom was spectacular! There is a nice beach but you don't want to use it due to poop everywhere....but the indoor pool and water parks and fe free breakfast..make it a great value...this hotel is worthwhile.These comments are from a verified stay129 people found this helpful. Did you find this helpful?|The only negative thing I can say is that the TV was a little challenging to turn on, but we figured out that we had to use the controls on the TV itself to change to channel 3. (For some reason, every time we turned it off, the station switched to a different channel other than 3, and the cable box only worked when the TV was on channel 3.) Did you find this helpful?|When we go to Mackinaw we don't want to spend a lot for a hotel room. Waterfront Inn keeps their prices at a reasonable rate. They are an older hotel but everything is clean and the staff is always great. We had a balcony with a view of the bridge and the island, we had a place to sleep and shower and even though the hotel was older it was clean. Did you find this helpful?|I was just stopping for the night. Clean, quiet, and reasonably priced was what I was looking for. I was quite satisfied. Staff was friendly and helpful. When I had a question about the air conditioner, they sent the maintenance man up within 10 minutes to look at it. With beach frontage, I was treated to the fireworks in Mackinaw City. There was a complimentary breakfast voucher given to me at check in, but I didn't take advantage of it, so can't comment. No elevator in waterfront room building so dont go waterfront on 2/3 floor if you have mobilty trouble. Upon realizing that I contacted the desk, they located the items and secured them at the desk so we could pick them up. Asked for a microwave in room and it was there, which was great! The beach was less than stellar, though, there was a strip of sand and then lots of grass and rocks to get to the lake. Don't think they should advertise 'sandy beach'. Didn't go swimming, however we loved the pool with its waterfall and the hot tub. I had told the person I spoke to the week before that I planned on going to the Island in the morning of 7/27/13. They were overall clean, courteous, and helpful. Thank you. I made a decision to put less of our money on the hotel stay so we could take more advantage of things to do on the island and with our stay here that worked. Many thanks to the tourism bureau which was straight up with affordable pricing on local places.
