Very accomodating when we arrived one day early. Gave us beachfront room for a few $ more. Breakfast was good and room big. View was great and so-o-o close to beach. Cleaning folks did a great job every day. Front desk helped with tickets, info, etc. and were so friendly! Pool was nice, hot tub HOT. Great location to stores, restaurants, and fairies. Made us feel at home and so relaxed. Will recommend to everyone!!

It started the evening one of the gals called saying my credit card did not work. i had typed two 2 instead of two 5 so i was good to go after that. the day we got there she was there and remembered calling and talking to me. we were the only ones that had a motorcycle to they let us park in a great spot. everyone was very nice right down to the cleaning ladies. the morning we left it was raining and they gave us a good size garbage bag to put over our luggage we had on the back of the bike. i picked this hotel because it was right next to the dock but next time i will pick it because of the great service we had there. thank all the gals that work there they were great.

We were very pleased with or rooms which were clean and large. Wde had requested lakefront rooms next to each other. At first they were not able to accommodate us as we arrived at 5 PM. We did have confirmation. Then they upgraded us to meet the request made at the time of booking. The balcony was nice with view overlooking the lake. Being next to the ferry was a plus. The breakfast was good. We would recommend.

I would love to say it was outstanding but I would rather say excellent witch I believe is somewhere in the middle. The breakfast was very nice and all the staff were outstanding. We upgraded to a newly remodeled room and it was excellent except for a few things. The table in the room wobbled. The top was loose. The luggage rack was unuseable I tried to put my suitcase on it and it wanted to collapse sideways. Two bedside tables would have been nice, we had to bring in the little plastic one from the balcony. A dimmer on the bathroom light would have been nice. I brought a nightlight along and was glad I did. It's not very relaxing sitting in a hottub with a bright light on. These are small things but for the money they should not have been an issue. So overall it was somewhere between outstanding and good. Thank you Colleen Witterholt

The Hamilton Inn was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the breakfast and the accommodations were very clean and roomy. The pool and hot tub were one of the nicest in the places we have stayed in Michigan. Very close to ferry and shopping. The price was very good. The only complaint I have would be the attitude of the front desk clerk when we checked in. Because we were a little early, she tried to give us another "cleaned" room of equal quality, but at a $10. increase in price and was very upset when we didn't take it. We waited the extra hour to have our orginal reserved room. Overall a good trip. I would like to go back there in the summer to enjoy the beach. Mackinaw City itself is very nice as well.

The staff was excellent. We played cards in the evening and were able to use their breakfast room for as long as we wanted. Our rooms were very clean. When extra towels were requested, they were immediately brought to us. The restaurant they suggested turned out to be a great family owned Italian restaurant. We had a great time in Mackinaw City. We felt the room rates were very good on your website. Thank you very much!!

Rooms were clean and large with a great view of the lake. We had a very good location for seniors. Rooms were on the main floor and close to doors for loading and unloading. Staff was very helpful when we asked about delivery service for pizza and recommended transport to island.

Very nice acomodations, could not rate higher because when we were given our room key at checkin & went to the room with arm fulls of lugage, they needed 45 more minutes to finish cleaning the room. The second day I had to go to the front desk to find out when they were going to clean our room, it was over looked. When they did clean the room, they did do a great job.

My reservations and tour tickets were waiting for me upon arrival and the staff was very knowledgeable on the ferry departures and local attractions. After checking out, they also provided a place for my travel companion's insulin while we were on the island. Rooms were comfortable and we got what we had asked for without a fuss. I would definitely stay there again should I come back up to Mackinaw City.

Everything was very good. We couldn't check in early so we went to the island first. The front desk seemed a little disorganized when we got there but otherwise everyone was very helpful. We had no problems with the room. We thought the 25' breakfast would have had a little more variety but the food was good anyway.

The hotel staff members are helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean and the one we had was quite roomy for us and our teenaged son. The beach area was clean with many chairs for sunbathing. Can't beat the location--like many on "hotel row," this one is a short walking distance from all the area shopping areas and a short drive to the bridge, museum, and park area surrounding it. Don't listen to staff regarding recommendations for the ferry ride to Mackinac Island. They are all the same and if you get the online coupons (which you can show on your phone and don't have to print), all services cost about the same. Simply use the ferry services next door or a block away and don't get stuck waiting to take the "free" bus/shuttle to Shepler's Ferry. The staff could not tell me why I should take that ferry over another, other than "great service," but then they admitted the service was the same--no different amenities. Ours was fine and also very much on schedule. What can you do for an 18-minute boat ride anyway? I could only wonder if the hotel got a kick-back from Shepler's Ferry... Food: the free buffet breakfast is awful but has hot food as well as continental style. There is a lot of food and people staying there seemed to LOVE it. They went back for platefuls of the stuff, so maybe take my review with a grain of salt. Instead, on day two, we went to a wonderful independent bakery off the main drag that had excellent homemade blueberry scones, pastries, and also breakfast sandwiches for those who want eggs. Plus, the coffee there is great--regular coffee as well as specialty coffee drinks. Additionally, it is a funky little store with interesting things to browse through or buy (you can get something other than Nascar Rubber Duck and they don't push fudge there. Perhaps they don't even sell it!). It's called the Mackinaw Bakery and Coffee House. So, the Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront Hotel is a great place to stay, good value, especially if you like free breakfast no matter how it tastes.
