We got a last minute reservation and really didn't expect a lot, boy were we wrong!!! The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the room was a suite with 2 rooms. It was extremely clean and the beds were great. Pool area was inviting and clean (even though it was the last 1/2 hour open). Breakfast was the very good with many different options. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will stay in it again!!These comments are from a verified stay

We had two suites and were very excited that they were joining rooms. We also really enjoyed the pool and the free passes to the water park. The hotel staff were all very friendly and also very helpful. This was our first time in Mackinaw city and we had lots of questions. The hotel was very clean and inviting, Jon the manager was not only friendly each morning he made suggestions of things to see and in the area. We have been vacation in Mackinaw Cit for many years and I have to say and give kudos to Mackinaw Bay and Beach Resort for their outstanding customer care and your manager Jon! When they told me, I was so upset with myself but they were absolutely wonderful and did everything in their power to make the accommodations for us. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The location and the view of the bay/bridge was perfect. We especially loved the patio; having the bed beside the large windows on the water was soothing and the perfect spot to see morning sunrises. Our one (small) complaint was the noise caused by a worker using a leaf blower to clear the beach for an entire afternoon: there has to be a better way! Breakfast: 4* Hot breakfast had healthy selections and was adequate, but I wasn't allowed to bring food to room for my kid who slept in. Beach: 3* Not as sandy as pictured in ad. A bit icky with plants & grasses near the water. We ended up not playing at the hotel's private beach. I enjoyed the view and the free breakfast as well. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and our "maid" was pleasant and did a good job. The only complaint I would have was the breakfast. I'm not a big fan of sausage and did not like the taste of what was served. I would suggest varying the menu to include bacon and yogurt at least part of the time, and maybe fresh fruit. Our only complaint was the air conditioning wasn't working the first night. However it was fixed the next day.
