Good for a 3 star hotel. Beach area was fair. Grass/rocks between sand and water so you need shoes to walk to the water. Room was good. Good location. Good service.These comments are from a verified stay

Having just changed ownership, it is still improving and changing, which creates a little confusion at times. The staff was gracious and efficient. AND he gave us lots of helpful tips on the area. When stopped to see about early check in our room was not available, which we understood. We told desk clerk that we would be returning late from a fishing charter. When we came back to check in, everything was ready for us, I only had to sign the paperwork and all was taken care of for us. Breakfast buffet is decent, usual free stuff. Don't be expecting any fancy beach around here. Rooms were facing the lake and clean. Generally very happy with the stay and Mackinaw city is great. A second bathroom would be nice and also a door to the bedroom. The beach area needs more sand. She was blonde and worked the night shift. Also the hotel is very nice and the rooms are perfect for our family of 5. I received the exact type and location of room I asked for, even though my reservation was made only a week or so before our stay, AND it was a holiday weekend. That was impressive and helped make it an outstanding family vacation weekend. This place is perfect for families with older kids since the rooms are divided into 2 separate rooms by the bathroom/kitchenette area. Gives both parents and kids a bit of privacy. Good hot breakfast. Great location! Only complaint would be the inability to get extra towels in the evening for the next morning. As luck would have it, we were there along with a bus load of students so the breakfast buffet was overwhelmed, and into the night, is sounded like someone was practicing gymnastics in the room above us. We realized this was an anomaly as this was a very nice property overall. Plus, they informed us about the ferry service pickup and drop off and made the call to the service; very convenient. Mackinaw Beach & BayMackinaw Beach & Bay Robert from Lawrenceburg stayed in May 2013Front desk was very friendly.The rooms very clean.Even though the hotel was not full because of the time we were there,they did have a group of children there and a few other people.Our room was going to be close to other filled rooms and the night manager separated everyone so it would be quiet.Our room was on the third floor and had the most beautiful view of the lake,the boats and the bridge.When we come back we will stay at the Beach and Bay.
